The Opportunity
The BI Engineer supports the design, test, and development of data sets through the use of BI tools, technologies, and systems. The role involves analyzing complex data requirements and developing technical and/or process solutions to meet business needs. The engineer works collaboratively with the technical and product management teams throughout all phases of projects, including requirements validation, QA support, development, and deployment.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain data sets to support business needs, following BI development best practices and innovative use of appropriate technologies and systems.
- Work collaboratively with technical and product management teams to deliver technical solutions.
- Participate effectively in all phases of application development projects, including requirements validation, design, testing, development, and deployment support.
- Execute ad hoc dimensional data modelling to create analytics models for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide support for Real World Data determination, including investigation and resolution of reported issues in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to translate high‑level requirements into actionable development plans and drive execution to completion.
- 2+ years with data modelling and ETL development tools (nice to have: Snowflake, DBT Core/Cloud).
- Adecuado experience with Apache Airflow.
- SQL knowledge.
- R/Python development experience.
- Hands‑on experience in business intelligence, reporting, and analytics, with experience in creating algorithms, formulas, and calculations.
- Knowledge of dimensional data modelling.
Nice To Have
- Work experience related to Real World Data/Real World Evidence:
- Experience utilizing 837 healthcare claims and EMR data (nice to have: 835 remittance, chargemaster, SDOH, lab, biomarker/genetic testing, NCPDP D.0 pharmacy, imaging).
- Familiarity with RWD research including persistence, compliance, line of therapy, patient journey, epidemiology, market sizing, physician targeting.
- Knowledge of healthcare billing codes such as ICD, CPT, HCPCS, and NPI.
